Jharkhand lies in Eastern part of India.  The state comprised of 33 million people and around 17 million (more than half) males as per census 2011.  The urban population was around 7.9 million i.e. its urbanization is little over 24% and is more than double what we have in Bihar from which this state was carved out in the year 2000.  Here below the diagnosis of any kind of Acute Illnesses in Jharkhand State has been given sex wise and as per their residence too. These rates are based on one Large Scale Annual Health Survey which was conducted in the year 2010-11 for eight EAG States besides the state of Jharkhand State.  Here below incidence of getting diagnosed of Acute illness in Jharkhand State have been given per one lakh (one tenth of a million) persons, males and females besides the percentage of people getting regular treatment from Government and all sources combined.

It can be seen from above that confirmed prevalence of Acute Illness is higher in Rural Jharkhand (around 5.8% for males and 6.4% for females) than in Urban Jharkhand (around 3.8% for males and 4.1% for females). In both the areas, females are more acute ill than males.  Seeking of regular treatment is little higher in urban areas than rural whatever the source of seeking health facilities is.  Both Urban and Rural males are marginally more for regular treatment than respective females.  But Government Sources are not popular in both the Urban and rural areas. Only 13% of urban persons utilize the Government facilities, whereas 11% of rural persons use Government facilities.  Thus Government need to strengthen the health care system in entire Jharkhand so that public may have to spend less from their pocket on health care.
