Source: * Annual Health Survey, 2010-11; + Census 2011
It may be seen from the above simple calculations
that in the eight EAG States population is over 555 million persons i.e. they
form over 110 million households. Over
one half of them are still using Kerosene
as the main source of Light. It could also
be observed that in the hill state of Uttarakhand, it is merely nine percent of
the households with this underprivileged characteristic.
Bihar followed by Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha are worst placed
in this respect.
