for following four progressive states of India is given in the following
Table. On this basis, the numbers of
female babies which are estimated to have been killed in their mother’s womb
before taking birth in the year 2011 are presented in the following table.

One may see that such abortions
by witnessing the sex of their ward are going without problems to their
parents. Punjab is aborting the least in
absolute terms, out of these four states. Maharashtra is topping among these four
states.
In Maharashtra, the population
got reduced due to such abortions by around 106 thousand and the same is about eight
percent in the total such reduction in whole of India as the same has been
estimated as 1.33 millions. Such illegal actions are being carried even in
progressive states of India.
