It can be seen from above that confirmed prevalence of Acute Illness
is higher in Rural Uttarakhand (around 8.4% for males and 9.1% for females)
than in Urban Uttarakhand (around 7.2% for males and 8.4% for females). In both
the areas, females are more acute ill than males. Seeking of regular treatment is marginally
higher in urban areas than rural. Both
Rural and Urban males are little more for regular treatment. But Government Sources are not popular in both
the Urban and rural areas. Little over 10%
of urban persons utilize the Government facilities, whereas not even 14% of rural
persons use Government facilities. Thus,
Government needs to strengthen the health care system in entire Uttarakhand so
that public may have to spend less from their pocket on health care.
