Rajasthan is one of the major Western State of India.  The state comprised of 68.6 million people and around 35.6 million (more than half) males as per census 2011.  The urban population was around 17 million in 2011 i.e. about one-quarter of the people live in cities and towns.   Here below the diagnosis of any kind of Acute Illnesses in Rajasthan State has been given sex wise and as per their residence too. These rates are based on one Large Scale Annual Health Survey which was conducted in the year 2010-11 for eight EAG States besides the state of Rajasthan State.  Here below incidence of getting diagnosed of Acute illness in Rajasthan State have been given per one lakh (one tenth of a million) persons, males and females besides the percentage of people getting regular treatment from Government and all sources combined.

It can be seen from above that confirmed prevalence of Acute Illness is higher in Rural Rajasthan (around 3.8% for males and 4% for females) than in Urban Rajasthan (around 2.2% for males and 2.6% for females). In both the areas, females are more acute ill than males.  Seeking of regular treatment is marginally higher in urban areas than rural.  Males are more for regular treatment than females.  But Government Sources are popular in rural than urban areas.  Probably, private facilities may be better equipped as compared to Government set up in urban areas and the availability of Government facilities may be better in rural areas as compared to the private sector clinics and affordability problem may be the second best reason for rural Rajasthan for depending more on Government Sources. As against the observation in other EAG states except Odisha, people in Rajasthan are depending more on Government sources for the treatment of acute illness irrespective of place of residence or sex of the person.
